From In-Home to Headquarters: The Childcare Owner's Blueprint For Growth, Leadership, and Lasting Success shares my journey from starting an in-home childcare program to building, leading, and expanding a thriving childcare business. Through lessons learned along the way, I offer practical insight and guidance for childcare entrepreneurs who are ready to start, strengthen, or grow their own programs.
I wrote this book to share the knowledge I gained through experience—the wins, challenges, growth, and lessons that helped shape me as both a business owner and leader. My goal is to help other childcare entrepreneurs navigate their journey with greater clarity and confidence while showing them what is possible when they allow their vision to grow beyond where it began.
More than anything, I want readers to finish this book feeling equipped, encouraged, and ready to take their next step—because where you start does not have to determine how far your vision can go.
Meet Tamara

Tamara Ventress is the owner and director of The Toddler House Learning Academy and founder of The Childcare Launcher. A former first-grade teacher, certified business coach, and Louisiana Pathways instructor, Tamara is passionate about helping childcare professionals transform their vision into thriving, sustainable businesses.
Her own journey began with an in-home childcare program and grew into successful childcare centers—giving her firsthand experience in what it takes to build, grow, and expand in the childcare industry. Today, she uses that experience to equip and empower other childcare professionals to confidently launch and grow businesses of their own.
